Azores stopped to issue whale-watching licenses

 

According to a decree which was published in the Government Gazette Azores islands of Corvo, Flores, Graciosa, Santa Maria and Terceira will no longer issue new licenses for whale watching tourism.

Whale-watching is one of the Azores’ most famous and popular excursions. New licenses will to be suspended in ‘Zone C’ – which includes the five islands, because of a “significant rise in
the activity”.
