Portugal integrates refugees into Portuguese society

This task is successfully solved in the town of Idanha-a-Nova.

Refugees who arrived in Portugal on the quotas of the EU migrants got jobs in the agricultural sector.

Six Eritreans settled in the town. Two have already received refugee status. Farmers hope that migrants will help revive their farms.

Local farmers say that they’re happy to hire refugees because the area is deserted, there are very few residents, and they need young people.

Earlier, the Portuguese authorities announced their readiness to accept refugees within the framework of the European resettlement program.
